Ok, so my first day was Monday. It was a lot busier than Doug made it out to be -- even on a slow day. But I think what made it seem so hurried, was that I had no idea what I was doing. I know I got in the way a bit, but I'm sure that once I get used to all the buttons on the register, and doing the register as well as getting the concessions together at the same time... it will seem easier. Kim and Spen did an awesome job of training me and not letting my cluelessness get to them. ;-) My first weekend night is this Saturday... with a normal set of employees working... so I REALLY hope I can keep up!!! Either way, it's a good way to get me to learn faster. Either sink or swim I guess. So, if you come to see a movie on Sat, and I'm not too friendly, it's 'cause I'm really stressed out! (^_^);;
Orchestra started rehearsing this week also, and it looks like this first concert (Friday, October 7th) is going to be pretty sweet. We're doing Dvorak's New World Symphony, Wagner's Prelude to the Meistersinger, and a piece by Mozart, though I can't remember the title.
I've also scheduled my senior recital! It will be 5:00 on Friday, Dec. 9th, so mark your calanders! Yes, it is the last day of class before finals, and I know you won't be studying yet... it's Friday! You'll have the whole weekend in front of you, and there have been studies that classical music helps your brain study better.

My first blog ever!
Ok, I've never been good at journaling... especially with the keeping it up part. But I'm going to give it a try. I think i'll just start with something I've already written... just so I can get off to a fresh start and know that I have at least one blog posted.
REBIRTH
A clear crisp evening
in the onset of May.
A golden glow
of waning sun.
Green leaves reflecting warm light.
Gentle chatter of bugs. Dys-
junct rhythm—a distant bird’s call.
The sound of car tires on dirt.
Footsteps.
Laughter of friends reunited.
Tickled skin—a brush of gentle wind.
Welted back of failure.
A cross.
Pages of miracles.
Three pastors, two wives, a boy, a dog.
A mother.
A psychology major, a roommate.
A woman with herbal remedies.
Light
springs from the sound
of water.
One little waterfall
and a smooth wide creek.
Many feet on leaves,
then on gravel.
Four feet tread underwater.
Pause.
A mellow guitar, voices aimed upwards.
Another pause.
Two feet speak,
three and four softly reply.
Submerged.
Time stops.
Cold, deep water.
A hand.
Time resumes; cleansing streams course
through hair, down face, chin, and arms.
Shock.
Not from drenched clothing,
but from the soft spring in my step.
Feet grind into gravel,
drowning out the mutter
of demons’ discontent.
A calm breeze,
the breath of my Savior.
